Biography

TRANSACTIONS:

  • Drafted by the Detroit Lions in the third round (65th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft.

COLLEGE: A mainstay at guard during his time at Kentucky, started 37-of-47 games as a Wildcat and earned All-SEC accolades all four years of his career.

  • In three seasons as the starting right guard, led the SEC interior blockers with an 88.47-percent grade for blocking consistency and registered 36 touchdown-resulting blocks.

2012: Received All-American second team and All-SEC honors from The NFL Draft Report as the watch list member for both the Outland Trophy and Lombardi Award. Started all 12 games at right guard, pacing the Wildcats with 48 knockdowns and 13 touchdown-resulting blocks as he did not allow a sack all season.

  • Garnered SEC Lineman of the Week honors after he delivered eight knockdowns vs. Kent State.
  • Despite the Wildcat offense only accumulating 58 rushing yards vs. South Carolina, Warford paved the way for two rushing scores from 10 and eight yards out, respectively.
  • Against Samford, Kentucky rushed for 275 of its 342 yards behind Warford’s right side as Warford had six knockdowns and two touchdown-resulting blocks.

2011: Named All-SEC second-team by the league’s coaches as he led the league’s interior blockers with a blocking consistency grade of 87.5-percent.

2010: Took over the starting right guard duties and started all 13 games to achieve All-SEC second-team recognition.

2009: Appeared in 10 games as a reserve at right guard. Named to the SEC All-Freshman Team.

PERSONAL: First attended Oceanside (Calif.) High School where he lettered in basketball as a freshman and sophomore. During his second season at the school, he also earned a starting job at offensive tackle for the football team. Later moved with his family to Richmond, Kentucky prior to his junior season and enrolled at Madison Central High School.

  • Lettered twice in football at Madison Central under head coach Kenny Turner and earned second-team All-State honors from the Associated Press as a junior and first-team All-State accolades from the AP and Louisville Courier-Journal as a senior.
  • Concluded his prep career by playing in the Kentucky East-West All-Star Game.
  • Community Communications and Leadership Development major.
