Anchored the Wake Forest defensive backfield for three seasons at linebacker, playing in 36 games and finishing his collegiate career with 193 tackles (110 solo), seven sacks (62 yards), three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and six pass defenses.

COLLEGE

2013: Continued his consistency at linebacker into his senior season as he played in 11 games and concluded the year with 52 total tackles (32 solo), two sacks (nine yards), one fumble recovery and two pass defenses.

2012: Played in and started all 12 games for the second-consecutive season, leading the team in total tackles with 81 (40 solo), four sacks, two pass breakups, one fumble recovery and one blocked kick. Also a heavy contributor on special teams with the coverage units.

  • Opened the season with a bang, notching seven tackles and a sack in the season opener vs. Liberty (9/1).
  • Had nine total tackles and one sack vs. ACC opponent North Carolina (9/8).
  • Blocked his second-career kick against Army (9/22) and finished the game with 11 tackles (five solo) and a fumble recovery.

2011: Saw action in all 12 games as a sophomore and started the final three games of the regular season at inside linebacker. Tied for fifth on the team and first among the linebacker corps with 59 tackles, and finished the season with one sack and three forced fumbles, which tied for third in the ACC.

  • Had a career-day at Boston College (10/1) after coming off the bench to make seven stops, the most of his career at that point.
  • Recorded his first-career sack for 14 yards vs. Virginia Tech (10/15).
  • Made his first-career start at Clemson (11/12) and posted six tackles and one pass defense.

2010: As a redshirt freshman, suffered an ACL injury in the season opener vs. Presbyterian (9/2) that ended his season.

PERSONAL
Earned First Team All-Associated Press honors as a senior in 2009 at Richmond (N.C.) Senior High School under head coach Paul Hoggard, and was also listed as First Team All-State by NCPreps.com. Named the Mid-Southeastern Conference’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2008 and earned a roster spot in North Carolina’s Shrine Bowl.

  • Helped Richmond win the state 4AA title in 2008 with a 38-35 win over Fayetteville Jack Britt.
  • Majored in communication with a minor in dance at Wake Forest.
