• Wesley grew up a fan of the Oakland Raiders, Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets. He also enjoyed watching CB Deion Sanders.

2010: Backup in Lion secondary and contributes on special teams.

2009: Finished the season with 6 tackles (5 solo), 1.0 sack, 4 pass defenses and 8 stops on special teams.

• Saw action primarily on special teams vs. Washington (10/11) and made pivotal play of the game with a fumble recovery of a punt at the Panthers 13-yard line to set up the go-ahead touchdown with 9:21 remaining in the game. Marked first action of the season on defense.
• Played as a reserve defensive back vs. Minnesota (12/20) registering a solo tackle and a sack of Vikings’ QB Brett Favre for a five-yard loss.

2008: Saw action in all 16 games played, primarily on special teams and tied for third on team with 11 special teams tackles, a forced fumble and 2 fumble recovers including one for a touchdown.

• Forced fumble by Raiders kickoff returner Johnnie Lee Higgins on opening kickoff that was recovered by Adam Seward at Oakland (11/9).
• Scored first career touchdown at New Orleans (12/28) after recovering fumble by Saints kick returner Skyler Green that was forced by LB Landon Johnson and returned it 12 yards for a touchdown.

2007: Signed as a free agent by Carolina (9/3) after being released by New England prior to the start of the regular season.

• Suffered a shoulder injury vs. Houston (9/16).
• Placed in injured reserve with a broken collarbone (9/19).

2006: Signed as an unrestricted free agent by Chicago (3/16) and played in 13 games for the Bears, garnering 13 special teams tackles and added 2 stops on defense.

• Inactive at New York Giants (11/12), New York Jets (11/19) and at New England (11/26) with an injured left knee.
• Led Chicago with 3 special teams tackles in NFC Divisional Playoff game vs. Seattle (1/14).

2005: Played in all 16 games for the Panthers and compiled 12 tackles and a forced fumble. Also accounted for 8 tackles and a fumble recovery on special teams. Was a member of a punt coverage unit that ranked fifth in the League in opponent punt return average and helped P Jason Baker lead the NFC with a then-team record 38.9-yard net average.

• Recovered a fumble in the fourth quarter by Saints punt returner Az-Zahir Hakim, at New Orleans (12/18) which resulted in a Panthers field goal.
• Knocked ball loose from Falcons RB T.J. Duckett in the fourth quarter at Atlanta (1/1/06) that was recovered by CB Ricky Manning Jr. and returned eight yards for a touchdown.
• Recovered a muffed punt by Giants PR Gibril Wilson at New York Giants (1/8/06) to set up a Panthers field goal late in the second quarter.

2004: Played in 13 games for Carolina, primarily utilized on special teams, where he finished second on the team with 18 stops. Also registered 7 tackles on defense.

• Inactive vs. Green Bay (9/13), at Kansas City (9/19) and vs. Atlanta (10/3).
• Amassed a career-high 7 tackles vs. Oakland (11/7).

2003: Played in all 16 games with one start for Carolina, Produced 8 tackles, 1.0 sack, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and 4 pass defenses. Also added 6 tackles on special teams as part of a coverage unit that ranked fifth in the NFL in opponent kickoff return average.

• Collected first career sack at Atlanta (12/7) and forced a fumble on the same play when he dropped Falcons QB Michael Vick for a six-yard loss.
• Started as an extra defensive back at Arizona (12/14) when the Panthers opened in a nickel defense and recovered a fumble by Cardinals RB Marcel Shipp.

2002: Selected in the four round (100th overall) of the NFL Draft by Carolina and played in 13 games with one start. Finished his rookie season with 28 tackles, a forced fumble and 9 pass defenses. Contributed to a secondary that finished fourth in the NFL in pass defense an second in the League in third-down efficiency.
