COLLEGE

Attended Indiana State University where he contributed as one of the top receivers in program history after switching from the quarterback position during the 2014 season. Finished career with school record for touchdowns in a season (10).  His career totals include 150 receptions for 2,047 yards, and 20 receiving touchdowns.  

2016: Hauled in 10 touchdowns on 56 receptions and 699 yards in his senior campaign,

  • Hauled in two touchdowns for 131 yards against Southern Illinois (Oct. 22).
  • Earned Second Team All-MVFC honors.
  • Named to MVFC All-Academic team.

2015: Played in 11 games (six starts) for the Sycamores. Led ISU in receiving yards (601) and compiled six touchdowns on the year.

  • Named honorable mention All-MVFC.
  • Named honorable mention MVFC Scholar-Athlete.

2014: Appeared in 13 games for Indiana State, switching from quarterback to wide receiver. Hauled in 54 receptions for 747 yards and four touchdowns on the year.

  • Career high 172 receiving yards at Western Illinois.

PERSONAL

Son of Robert and Tammy Tonyan. Attended McHenry High School (McHenry, Ill.).

  • Was a letterman in both football and basketball.
  • Set school record for passing yards (5,000) and had a career total of 40 passing touchdowns.
  • Named All-Fox Valley Conference in 2010 and 2011.
