Multi-purpose back that possesses quickness between the tackles and the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. Now in his ninth NFL season, Bush reached 1,000 rushing yards and 500 receiving yards for the first time in his career in 2013.  Also a versatile weapon as a return man with career totals of 772 punt return yards and four touchdowns.

FRANCHISE RECORDS AND NOTES

  • Bush finished the 2013 season with 1,512 total yards (1,006 rushing, 506 receiving), and he became the first Lions running back with 1,500+ total yards since RB Barry Sanders registered 1,780 total yards in 1998. Bush joined Sanders (9) and RB Billy Sims (2) as the only running backs in team history to gain 1,500 total yards in a season.
  • He also became the first Lions rusher to reach 1,000 yards since RB Kevin Jones had 1,133 yards in 2004.
  • By garnering 1,000+ rushing yards and 500+ receiving yards, Bush become just the second player in Lions history to register 1,000 rushing yards and 500 receiving yards in the same season. The only player to accomplish this feat was RB Billy Sims (1,303 rushing yards and 621 receiving yards) in 1980.
  • With 139 yards vs. Chicago (9/29) and 105 yards at Chicago (11/10), Bush became the first Lions running back since Hall of Fame RB Barry Sanders in 1997 to rush for 100 yards in both games against Chicago in a season.

Also finished second on the team with nine total touchdowns, the highest total for a Saints rookie since RB George Rogers had 13 in 1981.
