Sixth-year safety who originally came into the NFL in 2010 as an undrafted rookie free agent out of South Carolina State and has spent the previous six seasons with the New Orleans Saints (2012-15), Denver Broncos (2011-12) and Atlanta Falcons (2010-11). Comes to Detroit following four seasons with the Saints where he established himself as a primary contributor on defense and special teams despite missing time in 2014 and 2015 due to injury.

2015: Started at safety in the Saints' season opener at Arizona (9/13) and recorded two solo tackles before leaving the game with a chest injury. He was placed on season-ending Reserve/Injured on September 16.

2014: Played in 10 games with seven starts before suffering a season-ending leg injury in Week 11. Posted a career-high 56 tackles (44 solo), two pass defenses and a special teams stop.

  • In his first game as a permanent starter following a season-ending knee injury suffered to fellow safety Jairus Byrd at practice, posted a career-high 13 tackles (nine solo) and a pass defenses vs. Tampa Bay (10/5).

2013: Appeared in 13 regular season games with six starts and posted 42 tackles (30 solo), five pass defenses, one fumble recovery and four special teams stops. Played in both postseason games with a start and recorded five tackles (four solo).

2012: After being picked up off of waivers at the end of the preseason, Bush appeared in all 16 games and led Saints with 15 special teams tackles, also adding one fumble recovery on coverage. 2011: Appeared in six regular season games and two postseason contests for Denver. Posted three special teams stops in regular season.

2010: Spent first 16 weeks of his rookie season on the Falcons practice squad. Named to the active roster for the last week of the regular season and first two weeks of postseason and appeared in one playoff contest.

COLLEGE
Attended South Carolina State. Posted 222 career tackles. As a senior, recorded 54 stops, scored three touchdowns to rank fourth on the Bulldogs and earned Defensive MVP honors from coaches. Named to school’s all-decade team.

PERSONAL
Attended Williston-Elko (Williston, S.C.) High School. Registered more than 3,500 rushing yards as a three-year starter at RB. Named All-State, All-Region and All-Area during each of his three years as a starter, highlighted by his 1,800-yard, 28-touchdown campaign as a junior.
