- In one of the most unique fundraisers ever staged, Vanden Bosch organized the "KVB Birthday Brawl," which combined the worlds of pro football and pro wrestling, as Titans players teamed up with the superstars of TNA Wrestling for a one-of-a-kind wrestling event at The Wildhorse Saloon. The November 2008 event raised more than $90,000 for the foundation and its efforts to fund the first KVB Media Center at the Andrew Jackson Boys & Girls Club in Nashville.
- In 2009, Vanden Bosch received the Sydney F. Keeble Distinguished Service award from the Boys and Girls Club for outstanding contributions to the agency. He shared the honor with teammate Casey Cramer.

- His father, Doug, owns D&L Masonry, a construction company in Larchwood, Iowa, while his mother, Bonnie, is an accountant. Kyle began working for his father's company when he was just 12 years old, hauling bricks, cement and other materials. He says he owes much of his strength and work ethic to his experience with his father's business.
- Kyle and his older brother, Keith, played high school football together in Larchwood. Keith then went on to star at linebacker for Northwestern College in Iowa.
- Vanden Bosch has shaved his head since he was a freshman in college. The Nebraska defensive line members traditionally shave their heads at the start of camp, and Vanden Bosch decided to keep the look ever since.
- As a senior at Nebraska, Vanden Bosch was one of six NCAA Division 1-A players to garner National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete honors.
- At Nebraska, Vanden Bosch received one of the most prestigious awards in the nation for student athletes, the St. Vincent de Paul Draddy Scholar-Athlete Award, which includes a $25,000 post-graduate scholarship.
- Vanden Bosch enjoys spending time at a close friend's property in Winner, South Dakota, one of the country's best locales for pheasant hunting. He also is a big fisherman and spent a lot of time catching catfish at a lake near his home in Arizona during his career there.

2011: Team’s starting right end. Voted team captain for second-straight year. Has 32 tackles, 8 sacks, 4 forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery on the year.
- Had 1.0 sack and a forced fumble in season opener at Tampa Bay (9/11), along with 3 tackles. Was part of a defensive unit that helped the Lions to a 27-20 opening day win. Through the first three quarters, the Lions defense forced three-and-outs on five of the Bucs' first eight possessions, including three-straight to open the third quarter.
- On the Lions first defensive possession that started at the Lions 21-yard line following a 78-yard kickoff return, the Lions defense held firm and did not allow a first down, forcing a Buccaneer field goal. In the first half, the defense allowed just 6 points and limited the Bucs to just 8:15 of possession time in the first two quarters.
- The defense allowed just 56 yards on the ground against the Buccaneer. It is the lowest rushing total allowed by the Lions on the road in a season opener since allowing 31 yards at Seattle September 12, 1999. It was also their lowest rushing total allowed overall on opening day since limiting the Green Bay Packers to 46 yards September 11, 2005. No Bucs running back rushed for more than 15 yards and just 1 of their 17 first downs came on the ground.
- Recorded a sack-fumble to mark his second sack of the season vs. Kansas City (9/18). He has now has 5.0 sacks since joining the Lions in 2010. Was part of a defensive effort that registered 6 turnovers in the game against Kansas City, including 3 interceptions and 3 fumble recoveries. It marked the first time since the Lions claimed a 24-17 win at Houston (Oilers, 12/10/95) that the team had 3 interceptions and 3 fumble recoveries.
- Through 2 games, the Lions have collected 8 takeaways (4 interceptions and 4 fumble recoveries), and for the second consecutive game, have yielded no touchdowns in the first half. In total, they've allowed just 1 touchdown (passing) and 3 field goals through the first two games.
- Recorded his third sack of the season at Minnesota (9/25) during the Vikings’ opening series. He now has a sack in each of the season’s first three games. It is the third time in his career that he has recorded sacks in three-consecutive games and first since joining the Lions. He also did so with the Tennessee Titans in 2008 (four-straight games) and 2007.
- His sack occurred on first-and-9 at the Detroit 9-yard line after the Vikings drove down the field on the opening drive. That sack helped limit the Vikings to a 33-yard field goal to open the game. In the Lions 20-point come-from-behind win at Minnesota (9/25), Vanden Bosch not only recorded a sack, but he made a key hit crashing down on a fourth quarter 4th-and-1 play at the Lions 17-yard line stuffing the Vikings and giving the ball back to the Lions. That led to a game-tying fourth quarter field goal.
- Along with his 2 tackles at Dallas (10/2) in the Lions 34-30 comeback win, he had a crucial block on CB Chris Houston’s pick-six that opened up the sideline for the touchdown. It was the team’s second interception return for a score on consecutive drives that helped kick start the Lions furious second-half comeback.
- On the 49ers opening offensive play, rushed around the right edge and recorded sack-fumble for a 7-yard loss vs. San Francisco (10/16) and recovered the ball. The sack was his fourth season and third forced fumble. His three forced fumbles of the season are the most he’s recorded in a single season since 2008 when he was with the Tennessee Titans.
- Recorded one tackle for a loss and a sack at Denver (10/30). He sacked Broncos QB Tim Tebow for a 10 yard loss early in the third quarter. It was his team-leading fifth sack of the year.
- Had a fourth quarter sack of Cam Newton vs. Carolina (11/20). It was his sixth sack of the season, tying him with DE Cliff Avril for the team lead. He also added 4 tackles.
- Recorded 4 tackles, including one for a loss, vs. Green Bay (11/24).
- Had 2 tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble vs. Minnesota (12/11). The sack was his 7th on the season.
- Sacked Raiders QB Carson Palmer in the third quarter to help set up a 3-and-out for the Oakland offense (12/18).
2010: Voted team's defensive captain. Team's starting right end with 49 tackles and has 4 sacks for a loss of 37.5 yards, a pass defense and 2 forced fumbles.
- Led team with 11 tackles (10 solo) in season opener at Chicago (9/12). Was part of an impressive goal-line stand following a turnover by the defensive line as they prevented the Bears from scoring through all four downs.
- According to Stats, Inc., Vanden Bosch became only the eighth defensive end (second Lions DE) to record 10 solo tackles in a single game since 1994.
- Vanden Bosch led a Lions defense that was the only team in the league to face as many as four Red Zone possessions by their opponent during opening weekend and not yield a touchdown. In fact the Lions allowed just two field goals on those four possessions.
- Recorded 6 tackles (2 solo) and 1.5 sacks vs. Philadelphia (9/19).
- Tallied a tackle and a pass defensed at Minnesota (9/26).
- Had one sack for a loss of 2.5 yards, four tackles (3 solo), two tackles for loss and one quarterback hurry at the New York Giants (10/17).
- Applied constant pressure to the Redskins during the Lions' 37-25 win over the Redskins at Ford Field. He finished the game with a team-high 6 tackles, tied for a team-high with 2.0 sacks, was credited with 4 quarterback hits, 3 tackles-for-loss and forced a fumble on his second sack that resulted in rookie DT Ndamukong Suh returning it for a 17-yard touchdown.
- Set tone for the Lions defensive unit early as he recorded two quarterback hits on the Redskins first drive of the game that resulted in a three-and-out and he had three quarterback hits and 1.0 sack on the Redskins first two drives of the game.
- Recorded five tackles (4 solo) against the New York Jets (11/7).
- Tied for team-high eight tackles (3 solo) at Buffalo (11/14).
- Forced fumble late in first half to set up Lion touchdown at Dallas (11/21). Recorded four tackles (4 solo) and one tackle for loss.

2009: Played and started in 16 games for Tennessee and finished third on the team with 20 quarterback pressures in addition to posting 86 tackles, 3.0 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and a pass defense. Also was voted a team captain for 2009.
- Started at defensive end against Houston (9/20) and notched seven tackles, a quarterback pressure and a forced fumble. Ended a Texans' drive by stopping Steve Slaton for no gain and forcing a fumble that was recovered by Houston on a third-and-four play in the fourth quarter.
- Tied for the team lead with seven tackles, including a sack and a quarterback pressure in the Titans' 30-13 victory against Jacksonville (11/1)
- Recorded six tackles, including a sack, a quarterback pressure and a tackle for loss in the Titans' 20-17 come-from-behind victory against Arizona (11/29). Ended a Cardinals' drive by sacking Matt Leinart for a 3-yard loss on a third-and-8 play in the third quarter.
- Collected five tackles, a stop for loss, two quarterback pressures and a forced fumble in the Titans' commanding 47-7 victory against St. Louis (12/13). Stuffed Steven Jackson for a 2-yard loss on a rush off left tackle in the first quarter and also forced a Brandon Gibson fumble that was recovered by the Rams in the second quarter.
2008: Started all 10 games in which he played at defensive end for the Titans, collected 4.5 sacks and finished fourth on the team with 18 quarterback pressures was voted a team captain for the 2008 season by his teammates. Inactive for six games due to a groin injury.
- Against Jacksonville (9/7), notched five tackles, a sack, two quarterback pressures, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in the Titans' 17-10 victory on opening day. Halted a Jaguars' drive with a sack-fumble of David Garrard for 9-yard loss on which he recovered the fumble at the Tennessee 35-yard line late in the second quarter.
- Notched eight tackles, a sack, a forced fumble and two quarterback pressures in the Titans' 31-12 victory against Houston (9/21). Burst off the ball and sacked Matt Schaub for a 5-yard loss and forced a fumble that was recovered by the Texans late in the fourth quarter. Created pressure off the edge forcing Schaub to throw an interception to Cortland Finnegan who returned it 99 yards for a score late in fourth quarter.
- Collected five tackles, a half sack, a forced fumble and a team-best five quarterback pressures in the Titans' 30-17 victory against Minnesota (9/28). Forced an Adrian Peterson fumble that was recovered by Tony Brown at the Minnesota 15-yard line in the second quarter and teamed with Brown to drop Tarvaris Jackson for a 6-yard sack late in the fourth quarter.
- Returned to the starting lineup at defensive end against N.Y. Jets (11/23), and tallied seven tackles, a half sack and two quarterback pressures. Teamed with Albert Haynesworth to sack Brett Favre for a 7-yard loss on third-and-five in the first quarter.
- At Detroit (11/27), collected five tackles, a sack, a fumble recovery and two quarterback pressures against the Lions on Thanksgiving. Recovered a Shaun McDonald fumble at the Detroit 31-yard line that was forced by Michael Griffin in the first quarter.
2007: Started all 16 games at defensive end for the third consecutive season and was named as a starter for the Pro Bowl. Led the team and finished sixth in the AFC with 12.0 sacks and was second on the team with 115 tackles and 24 quarterback pressures. Was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week after registering 12 tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble against N.Y. Jets (12/23). Voted a team captain for the 2007 season by his teammates.
- Led the team with nine tackles in the Titans' 20-13 win against Atlanta (10/7) and also collected a sack, two tackles for loss and a quarterback pressure. Sealed the victory by sacking Byron Leftwich for an 8-yard loss on a fourth-and-goal play late in the fourth quarter.
- Against Oakland (10/28), finished with eight tackles, a sack, a quarterback pressure, a forced fumble and a tackle for loss in the Titans' 13-9 win. Dropped Daunte Culpepper for a 5-yard sack, forcing a fumble that was recovered by the Raiders in the first quarter.
- Led the team with 11 tackles, while tallying 3.0 sacks, two quarterback pressures and a tackle for loss against San Diego (12/9). Created pressure forcing Philip Rivers to throw an interception to Michael Griffin in the first quarter. Sacked Rivers for an 8-yard loss in the third quarter; dropped Rivers for a 10-yard sack in the fourth quarter and then two plays later, ended a Chargers' drive by sacking Rivers for a 9-yard loss on third-and-20.
- Named AFC Defensive Player of the Week after leading the team and matching a career high with 12 tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble in the Titans' 10-6 win against N.Y. Jets (12/23). It marked his second three-sack effort of the season and third of his career. Came off the edge and strip-sacked Pennington for a three-yard loss but the loose ball was recovered by the Jets in the fourth quarter.
- In AFC Wild Card Game at San Diego (1/6), saw action in his first career postseason game and posted six tackles and two quarterback pressures.
2006: Started all 16 games at left defensive end and finished the season with 118 tackles, 6.5 sacks, 30 quarterback pressures, four tackles for loss and a forced fumble. Set career high in tackles and led team in sacks for second consecutive year and led team's defensive linemen in tackles for second consecutive season.
- Recorded 10 tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss and two quarterback pressures against N.Y. Jets (9/10).
- Posted nine tackles, 2.0 sacks, a forced fumble and three quarterback pressures against Houston (10/29). Had a sack-fumble (David Carr) with under 0:20 seconds remaining in the first half which was returned 40 yards for a touchdown by DT Tony Brown. It was the third sack-fumble of Vanden Bosch's career that was returned for touchdown.
- Set career high and led team with 12 tackles, including one tackle for loss at Jacksonville (11/5).
- Registered seven tackles against Jacksonville (12/17) and added three quarterback pressures and a team-high 1.5 sacks. Reached 100 tackles for second consecutive season.
2005: In his first season in Tennessee, started all 16 games and was rewarded with his first career trip to the Pro Bowl after finishing second in AFC and fourth in NFL with 12.5 sacks in addition to 100 total tackles.
- Led team with a career-high 3.0 sacks and had a fumble recovery against Baltimore (9/18).
- Tallied 2.0 sacks at St. Louis (9/25), one of which was a sack-fumble recovered by DE Antwan Odom and returned 25 yards for a touchdown.
- Recorded seven tackles, one sack and a quarterback pressure and two tackles for loss in return to Arizona (10/23) where he spent first four years of career.
- Tied season high with nine tackles and added a sack-fumble, three quarterback pressures and two tackles for loss against Jacksonville (11/20). Sack-fumble was recovered by Antwan Odom for 27-yard touchdown return.
- Finished with 8 tackles, including game-high two sacks against San Francisco (11/27), On fourth quarter sack, forced fumble that was recovered by Andre Woolfolk. It was second consecutive game and third of season in which he forced fumble on sack that was recovered by Titans.
- Against Houston (12/11), posted seven tackles and tied for the team lead with 2.0 sacks.
- In first career Pro Bowl (2/12), recorded game-high two sacks.
2004: Saw action in every game for Cardinals, including one start (12/26 at Seattle), and totaled 15 tackles.
- Recorded two tackles in season opener at St. Louis (9/12) in first game since undergoing knee surgery in August 2003.
2003: Suffered torn ACL in left knee during preseason game at San Diego (8/16) and was placed on injured reserve on Aug. 26, the same date he underwent reconstructive surgery.
2002: Returned from reconstructive knee surgery to lead Arizona with 4.0 quarterback sacks, nine hurries and eight tackles for loss in 16 starts. Also totaled 66 tackles and one fumble recovery.
- Totaled four tackles, two tackles for loss at Seattle (9/15) and helped smother aborted Seahawk field goal attempt at Cardinals' 9-yard line in 24-13 win.
- Against San Diego (9/22), totaled four tackles, one hurry and 7-yard sack of Drew Brees during opening series.
- Tallied nine tackles, including sack and tackle for loss at Carolina (10/6), as Cardinals defensive line helped limit NFC's then leading rusher, Lamar Smith, to just 49 rushing yards on 18 carries.
- Registered season-best 10 tackles at Philadelphia (11/17) and set up team's first touchdown with recovery of Donovan McNabb fumble near midfield.
2001: Finished injury-abbreviated rookie season with 12 tackles, one quarterback sack, one hurry, one pass defensed and one fumble return for touchdown. Started first three games, inactive for next two, then spent final 11 weeks on injured reserve.
- Started first game of NFL career against Denver (9/23) at right defensive end in season opener and totaled four tackles, a pass defense and one quarterback hurry.
- Led defensive line with eight tackles against Atlanta (9/30) and recorded first sack of NFL career, taking down Chris Chandler for 9-yard loss.
- In win at Philadelphia (10/7), scooped up Donovan McNabb fumble on second play from scrimmage, taking ball 9 yards into end zone to provide 7-0 lead and first NFL touchdown. Suffered left ankle sprain on next series and was forced out of game.
- Missed contest at Chicago (10/14) due to ankle sprain.
- After returning to workouts Oct. 17, suffered season-ending injury in practice when teammate Barron Tanner rolled into his knee.
- Underwent reconstructive right-knee surgery (10/23) to repair torn medial collateral ligament and partially-torn anterior cruciate ligament. Subsequently placed on injured reserve October 25.
COLLEGE: Started final 23 games at Nebraska, closing career with 142 total tackles, 13.0 sacks for 112 yards, 34 tackles for loss and 46 quarterback pressures.
- As senior, was All-Big 12 Conference first-team pick by The Sporting News, adding second-team honors from Associated Press. Added Academic All-Big 12 accolades for the third consecutive year.
- Twice earned Verizon/CoSIDA academic All-America, continuing school's 14-year streak of having at least one player earn the honor.
- Set Nebraska single-season record with three blocked kicks—two field-goal attempts and one point-after-touchdown try as sophomore.
- Three-time Nebraska Lifter of the Year (1998–2000) added 40 pounds to frame after arriving on Lincoln campus as freshman.
- Graduated with 3.82 grade-point average and bachelor's degree in finance in December 2000.
PERSONAL: Has a daughter, Payten, and twin sons, Bastian and Case.
- Earned All-America honors at West Lyon (Larchwood, Iowa) Community High School. Also named USA Today/Gatorade Player of the Year for Iowa and Midwest Region.
- Started three years at fullback and four at outside linebacker at West Lyon. As senior, rushed 136 times for 812 yards and 18 touchdowns while recording 83 tackles, 14 sacks, and one interception. Set school's scoring record with 264 career points.
- Earned 4.0 grade-point average and was two-time National Honor Society member as well as Academic All-Iowa honoree.
