2012: Named team Offensive Upfront Co-Player of the Year after starting all 13 games at right guard. Part of an offensive line that averaged 6.2 yards per play, ranking second best in the Mid-American Conference.
2011: Starting center for season opener against SCSU before resuming duties at right guard for the rest of the season.
2010: Started at right guard in eight games as a sophomore.
2009: Competed in all 14 games, making three starts at center and also seeing action on special teams.
PERSONAL: Three-year starter at Traverse City West (Mich.) High School where he was ranked as the No. 43 prospect on the Detroit Free Press Fab 50. Helped lead his team to a Big North Conference title and state playoff berth as a junior.
Cornerback Kyle Fuller (Virginia Tech), tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins (Washington) and kicker Nate Freese (Boston College) all visited with Lions coaches and front office staff on Tuesday.
The Lions currently have two kickers on their roster, but special teams coordinator John Bonamego told season-ticket holders at a town hall meeting Monday night that the position is still far from settled.
