Seventh-year corner who joined the Lions midway through the 2015 season and contributed as a reserve corner and on special teams for the final eight games of the season. Previously spent time with the Pittsburgh Steelers (2010), Arizona Cardinals (2011-12), Washington Redskins (2012), Buffalo Bills (2012), San Diego Chargers (2013) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2014). Made his NFL debut against New England (11/14/10) while with the Steelers.

COLLEGE
A four-year contributor for the Clemson Tigers, Butler played in 53 games during his career and finished with 183 tackles, 11 interceptions and 21 pass defenses. Finished tied for second in school history with 243 career interception return yards.

  • Earned ACC Honorable Mention as a senior in 2009 and was also named freshman First Team All-ACC by Sporting News in 2006.

PERSONAL
Attended Asheville (N.C.) High School where he ended his career as the all-time rushing leader in school history with 5,030 career yards. Named MVP of AAA state title game as a senior in which he recorded an interception and a 70-yard game-winning touchdown pass.
