TRANSACTIONS:

  • Signed a one-year contract with the New York Giants for the 2009 season.
  • Selected in the sixth round (188th overall) by the Houston Texans in the 2005 NFL Draft.

PRO: Seventh-year safety who joined the Detroit Lions in 2010. Brown spent the 2009 season with the New York Giants where he played in all 16 games with seven starts and recorded 69 tackles (49 solo). Over the span of his six-year career, Brown has amassed 350 tackles (274 solo), 1.0 sack and 3 interceptions (14 yards).

  • Brown started seven games for New York in 2009 after Kenny Phillips underwent season-ending shoulder surgery and tallied 59 tackles (49 solo) and three pass defenses.

2008: Started all three games played on the season before fracturing his right forearm in the four quarter at Jacksonville (9/28). Finished the season with 15 tackles (12 solo) and a pass defensed.

2007: Played and started in all 16 games for the first time in his career. Finished fourth on the team with 83 tackles (64 solo), the second-highest tackle total of his career. Also added an interception, 9 pass defenses, 2 forced fumbles and 3 fumble recoveries on the season.

  • Started at strong safety at Carolina (9/16) and recorded 6 tackles (4 solo), a pass defensed and a fumble recovery.
