Biography

Ron Miles joined the Lions player personnel department in 2016 and enters his first season as the team’s college scouting coordinator. He joined the Lions’ personnel department in 2016 and previously worked as a college scout for two seasons. Before coming to Detroit, he spent the 2015 season with the New England Patriots as a scouting assistant.

Prior to entering the NFL ranks, Miles served as a coaching assistant at Ohio State for six seasons (2009-14), working specifically with the team’s linebackers. During his time at Ohio State, the Buckeyes claimed the school’s eighth national championship (2014) in the inaugural College Football Playoff, as well as two Big Ten Conference titles (2009, 2014).

A native of Kingston, N.Y., Miles earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Ohio State in 2012, and later went on to receive a master’s degree in organizational leadership in 2015. He is married to his wife, Justine.
