Patrick Mularkey
Pro Scouting Coordinator

Biography

Patrick Mularkey enters his 10th season in the NFL and his first as an area scout. He previously spent his first four seasons (2014-17) with Detroit as the team’s Pro Scouting Coordinator where he helped coordinate all aspects of the pro scouting department, including preparation for the free agency signing period, advance scouting of upcoming opponents, management of the NFL waiver wire and evaluation of players in the NFL and other professional football leagues.

Prior to joining the Lions, Mularkey spent four years with the Jacksonville Jaguars working in both the scouting and strength and conditioning Departments. During his tenure with the Jaguars, Mularkey’s duties included the evaluation of college players and NFL teams, unrestricted NFL free agents, and players in the AFL and CFL leagues. He was also in charge of organizing and directing free agent workouts, pre-draft visits, and unrestricted free agent visits. As an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach, Mularkey aided in developing the training and nutrition programs for the players and was responsible for compiling data from the team’s GPS tracking units.

Before joining the Jaguars, Mularkey spent the 2005 season as a player personnel intern with the Buffalo Bills where he assisted with free agency and player workouts. He later worked with the Atlanta Falcons strength and conditioning staff as an intern during the team’s 2008 training camp. Mularkey spent his high school years working training camp and gamedays as an equipment assistant for the Pittsburgh Steelers. 

Mularkey earned his bachelor's degree from Clemson University. He and his wife, Kristin, reside in Florida with their son, Waylon.
