Biography

Brendan Prophett embarks on his third season as the Lions Director of Pro Scouting after coming to the team in 2016 from New Orleans, where he served as an area scout for the Saints in 2015. Prior to his time in New Orleans, he spent 15 seasons as a member of the New York Jets personnel staff from 2000-14, including eight seasons (2007-14) as the team’s director of pro personnel.

Prior to his time in New Orleans, he spent 15 seasons as a member of the New York Jets personnel staff from 2000-14, including eight seasons (2007-14) as the team’s director of pro personnel.

Prophett’s previous roles with the Jets include assistant director of pro scouting, pro scout, and area scout after beginning as a college scouting intern with the organization in 2000. He also interned with the NFL Management Council in 2000 after working the 1999 season as a pro personnel intern with the New York Giants.

A four-year starter and three-time all-conference selection wide receiver at the College of New Jersey after transferring from the University of Maine, Prophett played professionally in Germany in 1998 before spending time in the Arena Football League with the Orlando Predators and Augusta Stallions (af2) from 1999-2000. The Bridgewater, Mass., native earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the College of New Jersey.
