The Lions are represented on all three units – offense, defense and special teams – on this year’s All-Rookie team as voted on by the Pro Football Writers of America.

Defensive end Ziggy Ansah, guard Larry Warford and punter Sam Martin were on the team that was announced on Tuesday by the PFWA.

Ansah, drafted in the first round and fifth overall out of Brigham Young, had eight sacks and two forced fumbles. He played in 14 games, all starts. He led all rookies in sacks.

Warford, a third-round pick from Kentucky, started all 16 games and quickly established himself as a strong run blocker and steady pass-protector.

Martin, a fifth-round pick, upgraded one of the Lions’ biggest trouble spots from 2013. He finished sixth with a gross average of 47.2 yards per punt and 10th in net average at 40.4 yards per punt.
