Johnson and Suh were the only two position players from the NFC North to make the team, as voted on by the Pro Football Writers of America

The Lions have more evidence in their search for a head coach that they have a team with the talent to win without a major rebuilding project.

Wide receiver Calvin Johnson and defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh were the only position players from the division who made the All-NFL team, as voted on by the Pro Football Writers of America.

Minnesota Vikings rookie Cordarelle Patterson was voted the kick return specialist.

Previously, Johnson and Suh were voted first-team All Pro by the Associated Press.

Voting for the PFWA awards is done by accredited media members covering the NFL. The PFWA has a much larger group of voters than does the AP, which has 50 voters and has not given the Detroit media a vote in recent years.

Suh, Johnson and Patterson also were on the All NFC team.  Other players  from the North on the All NFC team are Packers guard Josh Sitton and running back Matt Forte and wide receiver Brandon Marshall of the Bears.

Other awards by the PFWA will be announced this week.
