Twentyman: Two voices are better than one

When it comes to journalism, the more opinions the better and two voices are always better than one.

Mike O'Hara is joining as a columnist starting today and brings more than 40 years of journalistic experience to the website. More importantly, Mike brings an additional voice and another opinion on all things Lions related.

Mike covered the Lions for The Detroit News from 1977 through 2007 and there isn't anyone in the area who knows more about the Lions than him. In fact, there aren't many beat writers covering the team, myself included, who were alive when Mike started covering the Lions. Mike is certainly "experienced".

But seriously, both Mike and I come from newspaper backgrounds and fans can expect great "beat" coverage as well as interesting and opinionated columns on

Mike and I won't always agree when it comes to the team or personnel moves or the draft, and I think that's a great thing for both and Lions fans.

There will be opportunities for collaboration on columns and chances for Mike and I to banter back and forth in both print and on camera (which if you know Mike at all, you know he relishes that opportunity).

Simply stated, Mike knows the Lions and he knows football. He has the respect of everyone within this organization and he's a great addition to
