The Lions have signed veteran Nick Harris to take over punting duties for Ben Graham, who suffered a calf injury during Sunday's 44-41 loss to the Titans. The Lions placed Graham on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday to make room for Harris on the roster.

The Lions have already used their one short-term injured reserve designation on cornerback Drayton Florence.

Harris, 34, spent eight seasons with the Lions from 2003-10 and has a career punting average of 42.5 yards.

He suffered the injury prior to his first punt attempt of the game, a punt that was affected by the injury and resulted in a Titans 65-yard touchdown return. Jason Hanson took over punting duties for the remainder of Sunday's game and filled in admirably, with a 39.3 average.

Graham, 38, had six punts on the season for an average of 41.3 yards.

Harris punted in 11 games for the Jaguars last season, with a 42.7 average.
