PRACTICE REPORT: Lions have 100 percent participation at practice

Posted Nov 21, 2013

It's not often all 53 players on the active roster practice in some way, shape, or form 12 weeks into the season

All in.

The Lions had 100 percent participation during the portion of practice open to the media today.

Receiver Calvin Johnson (knee), safety Glover Quin (ankle), safety Louis Delmas (knee), running back Joique Bell (Achilles) and cornerback Jonte Green (illness) all took part in practice after missing Wednesday’s session.

There are no official statistics on the subject, but it's probably pretty rare to have everyone on the active roster practice this late in the season (Week 12).

Receiver Nate Burleson has been running with the first-team offense in the portion of practice open to the media this week and his status on the injury report was changed from being a limited participant on Wednesday to a full participant today.

That’s the best sign yet the veteran will get his clearance from doctors to return to game action and will be on the field against Tampa Bay on Sunday.

The Lions listed Johnson, Quin, Delmas and Bell as limited on Thursday’s injury report.  Defensive end Ziggy Ansah (ankle), defensive tackle Andre Fluellen (thigh), defensive end Israel Idonije (knee), and tight end Brandon Pettigrew joined them in that designation.

Everyone else was a full participant, including starting nickel cornerback Bill Benltey, who missed the last two games with a knee injury.

It’s a great sign for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay that all 53 players on the active roster were on the practice field and accounted for.

Idonije was probably the most limited of the bunch. He had a helmet but didn’t take part in defensive line drills.
