The Lions got some good news Friday when defensive starters Nick Fairley and Ashlee Palmer returned to practice.

Fairley has been dealing with a shoulder injury he suffered last week vs. Minnesota and Palmer appeared to tweak an ankle in practice this week. Both players took part in the portion of practice open to the media on Friday.

The team will release their status for today's practice and game designations for Sunday's in Arizona at 4 p.m. today on detroitlions.com.

Not practicing for a third-straight day were starting offensive tackle Jason Fox (groin) and reserve safety Don Carey (hamstring).

Expect Corey Hilliard to start at right tackle and rookie LaAdrian Waddle to be on the active roster Sunday if Fox can't play.

Also sitting out today were safety Louis Delmas (knee) and defensive end Jason Jones (knee), but that seems like it'll be the normal routine for them throughout the season.
