LIONS INSIDER

PRACTICE REPORT: Burleson only active player not participating in practice

The Lions have to be feeling good about the health of their football team with every active player except Nate Burleson participating in the portion of practice open to media

It is the Thursday before a big NFC North showdown at Ford Field with the first-place Chicago Bears and the Detroit Lions are the healthiest they've been in weeks.

Receiver Calvin Johnson (knee), guard Rob Sims (shoulder) and safety Louis Delmas (knee) returned to the portion of practice open to the media after sitting out Wednesday.

In fact, receiver Nate Burleson was the only player on the active roster who didn't participate in the open portion of practice.

Receiver Patrick Edwards (ankle), running back Reggie Bush (knee), tackle Jason Fox (groin) and safety Don Carey (hamstring) all took part in practice for a second consecutive day. All four missed last week's game in Washington because of their injuries.

The Lions will release their second injury report of the week today at 4 p.m., and there could be some limited participants on the report, but all in all, the Lions have to feel pretty good about the health of their football team heading into Sunday.
