The Lions begin the week pretty healthy, too. Receiver Calvin Johnson, defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and safety Louis Delmas were back on the field for the portion of practice open to the media. Johnson missed the final three preseason games with a knee bruise.

The only players not participating were defensive end Ziggy Ansah and running back Montell Owens.

Ansah hasn't practiced in more than a week with an undisclosed injury. The Lions No. 1 pick was out at practice watching individual drills, though. The Lions will release the first injury report of the season on Wednesday.

Owens hasn't practiced since sustaining a non-contact knee injury the third preseason game. He's a candidate to be placed on short-term injured reserve with the designation to return after six weeks. The Lions can make that move starting today if they choose.

There were also a couple of number changes after the initial 53-man roster was determined Saturday.

Rookie tight end Joseph Fauria is now No. 80, defensive tackle Justin Bannan is No. 97, cornerback Rashean Mathis is No. 31 and safety DeJon Gomes is No. 24.
