The Lions and veteran long snapper Don Muhlbach have come to terms on a new one-year contract for the 2015 season.

Muhlbach, who was a Pro Bowler in 2012, has spent his entire career in Detroit and will play his 12th season in the NFL in 2015.

He is steady when it comes to long snapping, and the velocity and precision in which he snaps the football has often been an unnoticed weapon for Detroit's special teams unit for a decade now.

The fact that it's gone unnoticed is actually a compliment to Muhlbach. Oftentimes long snappers are only noticed when they make a mistake. For Muhlbach, those are few and far between.

He's played in 164 regular season games in Detroit and is the only Lions specialist who did not kick, punt or return to play special teams in the Pro Bowl.

Muhlbach is one of the best at what he does and that hasn't gone unnoticed by the Lions.

Both punter Sam Martin and kicker Matt Prater have credited Muhlbach's speed and accuracy snapping the football as a huge contribution in their performances.
