INJURY REPORT: Ziggy Ansah a full participant in practice; probable for Sunday

The Lions should have their full compliment of weapons Sunday vs. Minnesota with rookie defensive end Ziggy Ansah ruled "probable" to play on Friday's injury designations

It appears the Lions will have their full compliment of weapons Sunday when they host the Minnesota Vikings in the 2013 season opener.

Rookie defensive end Ziggy Ansah was a full participant in practice Friday and is listed as probable for the game. That's certainly good news for a defensive line charged with stopping the league's No. 2 rushing attack last year on Sunday.

"I'm hopeful, but that is coach's decision," Ansah said in the locker room after practice when asked about his playing status.

The team's first-round pick suffered a concussion Aug. 24 after a helmet-to-helmet collision in a non-padded practice.

Ansah returned to practice for the first time Thursday as a limited participant.

"I just missed the game," Ansah said of his time away from practice. "I missed what I love to do."

Expect Ansah to start at right defensive end on Sunday after Friday's designation.

Also on Friday's injury report were safety Louis Delmas (knee) and defensive end Jason Jones (knee). Both players are also listed as probable.

Expect Delmas and Jones to have most Fridays off of practice during the regular season. They are veteran players and Friday is a good rest and recovery day for veterans nursing nagging injuries or dealing with general soreness.
