Herman Moore Blog: Lions can show the NFL the second half of Sunday's game wasn't a fluke

Former Lions' WR Herman Moore discusses the keys to winning this week at Arizona.

The first half of last week's game wasn't pretty and it looked like it was going to be another performance that the Lions should have won, but didn't.

Instead, this team hit a different gear and outscored the Vikings 21-10 in the second half.

Whether or not the Lions win this week will show the rest of the NFL whether that second half was a fluke or something this team is going to bring week-in and week-out.

Without a doubt the success of the running game played into that second-half confidence and continuing that trend will be instrumental in a road win this week.

Overcoming a hostile crowd environment hinges on the ability to run the ball.

Fans love the passing game, so there is no better way to get the crowd out of it than to methodically move the chains via the ground game.

Controlling the game that way also produces longer drives, which allows the defense to rest and be fresh coming out onto the field.

If the Lions can manage that, however, they will have a good chance of winning this week and improving to 2-0.
