Darius Slay Blog: "We have a lot of confidence on our shoulders"

Rookie cornerback Darius Slay on his performance against Green Bay, and building off of last week's win heading into Philadelphia

"I performed pretty good, you know, I did my job out there. Most important of all, I didn't let deep balls get over my head. I made sure that I made every kind of tackle, and I made sure I communicated well. I think I did very well at that, and I felt way more comfortable, just because of the games I've been in and in the long season, I think I've developed.

"I think I handled the quick turn around well, with getting focused on another team that fast, I did pretty decent and it showed on Thursday. That win was a team effort, knowing that all of us put the time and the hard work in, and preparation for the game plan, and we all got a good win out of it.

"The defense played a good game. We all helped each other as a unit, as a team, had good coverage, had sacks, Suh, Fairley and all those guys up there penetrating and threatening the quarterback. It was a great team effort out there, everyone did their job and we went out there and dominated.

"It was big. I didn't realize the history this team has with Thanksgiving, I didn't realize it had been that long since we won, so coming in and winning that game and going into this week, we have a lot of confidence on our shoulders. We're going to build off of that and bring it to Philly.

"Philadelphia is pretty good. Nick Foles picks his battles. You see that LeSean is a deep threat, they have a good receiving corp. They try to stay balanced. We have to be on alert with that type of offense, so we have to stay focused, do our assignments and keep the communication going to come out with a win."
