The countdown is on for the 2014 NFL Draft. Senior writer Tim Twentyman and Columnist Mike O'Hara have been busy investigating the latest draft rumors, speculation and chatter.
Will the Lions trade up, trade down or stick with 10? Only time will tell.
While we've been eagerly awaiting the draft, O'Hara has been breaking down the top prospects at each position in his draft preview series. This week he covered the defensive backs, running backs and offensive lineman. Stay tuned next week Monday for the quarterbacks and Tuesday for the receivers.
Hmm, quarterbacks, you may ask? Yes. Clearly, the Lions are set at starting quarterback with
“You're looking for a lot of intangibles certainly in the sixth round, a guy that fits your system," Gruden said. "You hope with coaching he can improve mentally and physically. There's a couple guys that I think might appeal to the Lions.
“The kid at San Jose State (David Fales) has some qualities. We talked about Tajh Boyd in the mid-round who has the chance to be that kind of guy.”
The Lions certainly have the tools in their coaching staff to draft a late-round quarterback to develop, so taking one late in the draft isn't out of the question.
One of our foes in the NFC North may also be on the lookout for a quarterback ... of the starting variety. Twentyman analyzed the draft needs for all four teams in the NFC north.
