Stafford says practice hit a new tempo with the full team participating

Matthew Stafford is glad to see the full team back on the field.

With the CBA ratification came the start of the new League year and the permission to field all signed free agents.

"We’re excited," said Stafford. "We’re happy to have the guys (back) and happy to have a full team for the most part now; (we want to) get guys back healthy as soon as we can and move forward from there."

Thursday afternoon's practice marked the sixth camp practice of the year and the tempo was obviously faster.

Stafford says the likely reason for that is the additional players.

"We felt like we didn’t have to slow down," he said. "The first couple days of practice we had four DBs or five DBs, whatever it was, and we were having to slow down drills because they just didn’t have enough bodies to run.

"Today was full-go; we had enough bodies for two-, three-, four-deep in certain positions. So that helped us out with the pace."
