WHAT: On Tuesday, December 6 at 6pm, Lions players are joining the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation in giving back to their community by hosting a shopping spree for kids in need at Toys“R”Us Roseville. During the event, Brandon Pettigrew, Maurice Morris, Tony Scheffler and Eric Wright, along with kids from the Boys & Girls Club of SE Michigan, will help spread Christmas cheer as they shop for enough toys to provide to all of the children at the Boys & Girls Club. After the toys are purchased, the Marines will load the toys into a truck outside.
WHY: In 2010, The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation delivered toys to over 134,000 local children. With an unemployment rate of nearly 13% in Detroit, one of the highest in the country, Toys for Tots anticipates an increase in requests for toys from struggling families. Without the help of Toys for Tots, many of this region’s children risk facing Christmas morning without a toy under the tree.
WHEN: Tuesday, December 6, 6 – 7 p.m.
WHERE: Toys“R”Us Roseville, 32070 Gratiot Avenue, Roseville, MI
