Overall, it appears that Lions' fans are pleased with the Lions' 2011 selections, despite several having mixed emotions on opting not to draft a defensive back.

Nonetheless, there's a great deal of excitement with Detroit's decision to draft talent over need, especially in the case of the Lions' first three picks: DT Nick Fairley, WR Titus Young  and RB Mikel Leshoure.

Out of over 400 responses, these are the 10 comments that made the cut!

Eniss Versus En:
"The Lions draft was very good but not great. I had a feeling they would take Nick Fairley if he fell to them which in my opinion was a great pick. I'm disappointed they didn't get any secondary help in such a cornerback laden draft but, Leshoure and Young are good players. With the acquisition of some quality free agents, I look forward to the Lions making a strong push towards the playoffs. Draft grade B ."

Thomas Oliver:
"The first pick was a great idea, if you have a chance to create a dominant overpowering defensive line, you have do it. With your second pick you can still get a top flight wide receiver like Titus Young you have to pull the trigger, you can't wait for need, and a running back like leshoure also in the second round mazing, I liked the Houge pick and Culbreath he could come in and probably start for the Lions this year at OT, I say this is one of the better drafts in Lions history awesome!!!"

Mary L Gallagher:
"This is one of the Proudest Times of my Life ...My Detroit Lions Are on Our Way Straight to the Top with these Fantastic Players ..In my 49 years of being a fan..(Since day 1) I Can't Wait For The Season To Start.....LIONS RULE"

Dane Durocher:
"looks great on paper! now its up to the caoches n players themselves to make it pan out! another great draft from our new regime!!! fairly was best dt in draft so to not pick him up at 13 would have been crazy, young is a speed freak and should not only take coverage off of big play c.j. but add other dimensions as well, and i cant figure out why ppl are puzzled on the leshore move, this kids a beast of a runner and can hold on to the ball an excellent change of pace than best!!!"

Wil Egner:
"My dad has had season tickets since the mid 1960's I have been a LIONS fan since I could remember. These last few years have been tough on the true fans we want to win enough said there. These past 3 drafts have actually put talent on the roster the can last for years to come.my favorite pick was Suh he instantly put credibility on the defense and building the trenches is a very smart idea. We will continue to support the Detroit LIONS until they one day win the SUHPERBOWL GO LIONS!"

Daniel Field:
"Some call it indulgent... say what you will, but for the first time in ages the Lions will be able to dominate in multiple aspects of the game. Those four DT rotating is potentially unstoppable. Leshoure and Titus should completely open up our offense, symbiotically allowing us to be dominant on the ground and in the air. You can patch holes and be sufficient most everywhere, or you can build your strengths where you see fit and move on down the line to less important areas afterward. That's what they're doing and perfectly so in my opinion. Have to give 'em an A . Great job of taking what's given."

Eric Kinnunen:
"I was born in Detroit and have been a bit of a Gypsy since. I am a lifelong Lions fan and I feel a strong bond with the Lions. I think the 2011 draft signifies the city of Detroit's commitment to winning. The hard work of the staff to turn this thing around makes me confident that the entire city of Detroit will soon thrive again. I'm proud to be from Detroit and I'm proud to be the biggest Lions fan in the state of Washington.. Go Lions!!"

Shawn O'Neill:
"Believe. The draft class made me believe in this franchise and team again. It was a blessing that Fairley fell to us and we took him. To win games it starts up front in the trenches and the Lions bolstered their defensive front. However wont say the word great yet let the pads say that for me..."

Dante Ferrari:
"Power, hunger and heart. Not only did our Lions draft for need and base that on their great skill level, they also took winners and champions. Nick Fairley was a beast all season and even stepped it up for the title game. Titus Young made big plays all year for one of the greatest Boise State teams in history. Mikel LeShoure is one of the most powerful young backs in the country. Lions fans should be proud! Playoffs here we come!"

Jake Illimitably Pyrzewski:

"They tried to trade up for Patrick Peterson, they ended up with Fairley..I couldnt be any happier with the effort they are giving to try to make a great future for the Detroit Lions and for there fans."
