Introducing Multimedia Journalist Tori Petry

Join us in welcoming our newest addition to Multimedia Journalist Tori Petry

Lions fans are well familiar with embracing names out of the South into the fold in the Motor City. And just like Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson once did, I’ve picked up my Southern roots and embraced the city of Detroit as my new home.

My name is Tori Petry, and I hail from the sunny state of Florida. Beginning this season, I’ll be working for the Lions as their very first multimedia journalist. In this new role, you’ll see me reporting in clips like the one you'll see later tonight on I’ll cover practices, Lions news and events, as well as feature stories that give you, the fans, an inside look at the players and personnel that make up this organization. You’ll even catch me occasionally joining some familiar faces on camera like the dynamic duo of Tim and Mike.

Prior to coming to Detroit, I hosted a community lifestyle TV show called “My Ocala TV” in central Florida and covered NASCAR, dirt tracks, and drag racing for NBC’s Florida Sports Talk Radio. I graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Telecommunication News, and in Gainesville, I worked as a local TV anchor and reporter where I covered Gator football.

I love the game, and I’m thrilled to be joining the Lions at this point in the team’s history. It’s a new start for me, and a new start for Detroit. I’m looking forward to immersing myself in the rich culture of this team and meeting the passionate fans in this city.

Get to know me by following me on Twitter at @sportstori - I’d love for you to say hello.

Thank you, Detroit, for welcoming me into your city. I’ll see you on the sidelines and at!
