GAME IN REVIEW: Lions rebound with a 27-20 win at Washington

Posted Sep 23, 2013

Even with Reggie Bush inactive, the Detroit Lions rebounded from a Week 2 loss at Arizona with a road win at Washington

It was a significant game for the Lions after a Week 2 loss at Arizona, and adding to that was the uncertainty heading in of Reggie Bush's availability.

As it turns out, head coach Jim Schwartz opted to hold Bush out of the game, but the Lions came through with a 27-20 win regardless.

RB Joique Bell rushed for 63 yards and a touchdown, adding 69 receiving yards.

QB Matthew Stafford completed passes to eight receivers in all, finishing 25-of-42 for 385 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.

"I think the biggest for us is getting the win on the road," said Stafford after the game. "It’s tough to win on the road here or any place in the NFL. This is a tough place. It’s a big stadium and crowd was loud and cheering for the Redskins today. I’m glad to just come out of here with a win."
