It was particularly satisfying for a fan base that grew worried after day one of the signing period came and went without word of any new contracts.
Ultimately, the Detroit Lions front office secured all four players, but the fans can also stake claim in the achievement.
Bush said it best in his introductory press conference in Allen Park.
After he was asked if once again playing in a domed stadium impacted his decision to sign with Detroit, he offered up that, "I did love the fact that the Lions have such a strong fan base here and that the fans show up and sell out all the home games.
"That’s really important. Hopefully we can keep that going this year."
That says quite a bit that Bush was swayed to come to the Motor City by the passionate fans who come out to support their Lions week-after-week.

The expectation is that Bush will energize the fan base even further.
Calvin Johnson’s impact on defensive looks the Lions have seen in recent seasons would make any running back’s mouth water, but particularly one whose bread-and-butter is catching balls out of the backfield and breaking for a big gain.
"Just speaking with Coach Schwartz and Coach Linehan, the language was the same," said Bush. "The way we talked about football and the things that we wanted to see out of this thing was the same and it just made sense. It felt right from the beginning.
"(It was) the possibilities of being out there on the football field with Calvin and Stafford and all the other guys out there. Just scoring a lot of points, all the time."
