ALLEN PARK, MICH. - Six Metro Detroit recently graduated football players have received $2,000 college scholarships from Detroit Lions’ receiver ![]()
This year’s scholarship recipients are:

The foundation was established two years ago to assist the self-development and empowerment of aspiring youth to help them to overcome seemingly difficult situations. The initial focus was on Johnson’s hometown of Metro Atlanta and now the veteran Lion has included his adopted hometown – Metro Detroit.
To qualify for a scholarship the recipients must have been graduating seniors this spring, already have a partial college football scholarship, and had a least a 2.5 grade point average upon their high school graduation.
