Insider tips for beating the rush

Avoid the final 45.

The busiest period for entry and wait times is the final 45 minutes before kickoff.

Gates open 2 hours before kickoff, so getting to the stadium in the first hour will increase probability of a short wait or no wait at all!

Please factor in extra time for traffic, parking and gate inspection.

Help us conduct faster inspections.

The NFL requires all fans entering Ford Field go through a physical screening.

Help us conduct faster inspections by removing all items from your pockets and placing them in either your hands or a bag.

Items include:

  • Cell phones
  • Keys
  • Loose change
  • Cigarette or gum packs with foil

Additional items such as bags, purses, binocular cases and other carried items will be searched upon entry.

Park in designated areas.

Parking on city streets or in no parking or standing zones is not recommended.

It is recommended to park in lots and garages managed by Ford Field, Olympia Development or the City of Detroit.

Before you leave for the game ...

  • Make sure you have the correct ticket(s) for the game!
  • Check the list of items not allowed into the stadium to avoid having to go back to your car!
  • Look through the Guest Code of Conduct. Once you're at the game, if you have a problem with another fan you wish to discreetly report, text the word "LIONS", the issue and location to 69050. Operational only during home games at Ford Field.

Stay in the know.
