Lions Academy

The Detroit Lions Academy is located on the east side of Detroit. Students, in grades 6-8, attend the school due to previous challenges in traditional educational settings. Academics, attendance, grade retentions, and behavior challenges have impeded student achievement. 85% of students are new to the school each year. 96% are eligible for free lunch.

Students receive additional social-emotional support due to poor esteem, gang activity, peer pressure, teen pregnancies, substance abuse, chronic code violations, criminal activities, and other challenges that have impeded their progress.

Detroit Lions Academy offers students an opportunity to learn and achieve in a structured caring and safe, learning environment that can address their individual learning needs.
